Prevention Monthly Briefing

Team/Person of the Month! Prevention Coalitions!

We congratulate and thank all the organizers of LA County’s National Drug and Alcohol Fact Week (NDAFW), observed during the last week in March!
NDAFW, is an annual, week-long, health observance that inspires dialogue about the science of drug use and addiction among youth. It provides an opportunity to bring together scientists, students, educators, healthcare providers, and community partners—to help advance the science, so that we can improve the prevention and awareness of substance misuse in our own communities and nationwide. We especially thank Belinda Alvarado and Daniel Fong, organizers of RAM's NDAFW Ask the Experts Tik Tok videos https://lacountyram.org

Schools are now able to offer in-person learning for students in grades 7 through 12, with strict adherence to safety protocols. In addition to schools, the orange tier allows restaurants, movie theatres, gyms and other businesses are permitted to operate with less restrictions. Last month, the Governor announced that the state is planning to phase out the Blueprint tier system and fully reopen by June 15th.
