are legally reportable in Los Angeles County.
reports are essential for identifying outbreaks, disease
trends, and new diseases. This information is used to
educate veterinarians, physicians, and others to help protect
the health of animals and people.
Diseases to Report?
- Rabid Animals - animals suspected of having
birds (for potential West Nile Virus testing)
- Outbreak - Many animals becoming ill around the same
time and place
- Animals/Humans sick with same symptoms, same location
- Animal diseases not native to area
or unusual animal diseases
- Any disease on the
Los Angeles County Animal Disease Priority List,
How to Report?

- Download and complete the
online disease report form (PDF)
then email or fax it in
