Background
The Promotores Training Program is a
									training series developed to train
									promotores, community health workers and
health educators to become a trusted
									community resource for nutrition
									information, food assistance programs, and
									food resources.

                                  Program Description
The program is made up of 12 weekly
sessions that are 2 to 3 hours in length.
Participants will be trained on various
									topics regarding nutrition, physical
activity, and how to build skills as an
educator in the community during the first
11 sessions. During the last session,
participants will select a training topic of
their choice and lead a group presentation
to practice leading a class of their own.
Participants are required to be dedicated
and present throughout all 12 sessions to
									receive a Certificate of Completion.
                                  Educating the Community
                                  Upon receiving the Certificate of
Completion, Promotores will be qualified to
									provide nutrition and physical activity
education to the community. When educating
the community, it is very important for
Promotores to ONLY use the information
provided to them throughout this training.
The Nutrition and Physical Activity Program
will also provide technical assistance to
									promotores if and when needed.
