Whittier Family Faire and Spring Eggstravaganza at Parnell Park
The Whittier Health Center (SPA 7) participated at the Whittier Spring Eggstravaganza on April 12, 2003. The health center’s focus was on family health, physical activity (exercise), safety and injury prevention. The Whittier Health Center and community partners (Whittier Community Resource Center and the Los Angeles County Immunization Program-East Area Field Unit) provided education on the VERB (It’s What You Do) campaign, bicycle safety, and immunizations. VERB Frisbees were distributed to children to promote physical activity and exercise. The Immunization Program, East Area Field Unit, provided families with educational incentives on the importance of immunizations. There were approximately 2,000 people that attended the faire. It was an Eggcellent and successful event in our community.
