Los Angeles Collaborative for Healthy Active Children |

The Los Angeles Collaborative for Healthy Active Children was formed to
address the epidemic of overweight and unfit children in Los Angeles County.
It is comprised of a group of over 100 stakeholders including school
districts, Head Start providers, health care providers, community-based
organizations, County of Los Angeles Department of Public Health programs,
County and City Department of Parks and Recreation, faith-based organizations,
the Network for a Healthy California, the American Heart Association,
the American Diabetes Association, the American Cancer Society, the Dairy
Council of California, the California Food Policy Advocates and many more!

LA Collaborative
Mini-Grant RFP 2008-2009
Mini-grants are available for nutrition education
projects that support the vision and mission of the
Collaborative and serve Food Stamp eligible
populations in LA County. Eligible applicants may
apply for up to $5,000.
Proposed projects should:
-
Promote, encourage or advocate increased daily
consumption of fruits and vegetables as part of
healthy eating that is consistent with the current
Dietary Guidelines for Americans and USDA Food
Guidance System.

Promote, encourage or advocate healthy eating and
active lifestyles that are consistent with the
current Dietary Guidelines for Americans and USDA
Food Guidance System.

Branding Guidelines from the Network for a Healthy California
Having a uniformed look is essential in having a larger influence on target audiences.
To ensure that Network-funded partners are having the most impact possible, the
Network
for a Healthy California team has developed guidelines in using the recently released
Network logo. To learn more about these guidelines, and to download the manual,

presentations for Network sponsored events. Please

through the Network for a Healthy California, which is an initiative of the
California Department of Public Health. These institutions are equal
