Expansion
When children do not have health insurance, they are less likely
to get the medical care they need. Thousands of kids in Los Angeles
County do not have health coverage. CHI is working together with
key stakeholders to make universal coverage for children a reality
in Los Angeles County.
Children’s Health Initiative of Greater Los Angeles
The CHI unit plays a significant role in the Children’s Health
Initiative of Greater Los Angeles (CHIGLA). CHIGLA is a coalition
dedicated to expanding health coverage to all children and to
better integrating the patchwork system of low and no-cost health
coverage programs so that families can move seamlessly from
one health insurance program to another.
