About Us

Ski, Snowboard, & Sled Safety

The southern California Mountains offer winter sports and activities to Los Angeles County residents, from snow skiing, snowboarding, to sledding. With proper conditioning, rules and responsibility, clothing, equipment such as a helmet, and safe driving preparation, can make your winter activities fun and safe.

Wearing a helmet while skiing or snowboarding has been shown to reduce the risk of head injury by 29% to 56%—that is, for every 10 people who wear helmets, three to six may avoid head injuries (Hagel, B (2005)
