Poisoning

Exposure to a poison can be made through ingestion of or contact with a substance  that results in toxic effects and bodily harm. Exposures to a poison can be 1) accidental, such as unintentional poisoning from a substance or 2) intentional, such as with a suicide or murder (American Association of Poison Control Centers, 2002).
