Motor Vehicle & Child Passenger Safety
Driver distraction-talking on a cell phone, talking to passengers/children, use of navigations systems, putting on make-up, eating-contribute to automobile accidents. When you are a driver-keep your attention on the road and your car!
Motor vehicle crashes are one of the leading causes of death in the United States (NHTSA). It is also the fourth leading cause of death and second leading cause of hospitalizations in Los Angeles County. Contributing factors include:
  • Speeding
  • Alcohol use
  • Not wearing a seatbelt or restraint system
  • Driver distraction (cell phone, eating, talking to passengers, putting on make-up, etc.)
