The Commission on Alcoholism is the advisory board on alcohol programs in Los Angeles County.
Appointed by the Board of Supervisors, the fifteen member Commission advises and makes recommendations
to the Board and the Alcohol and Drug Program Administration on a variety of planning and policy issues
related to the County alcohol programs. The COA has four Standing Committees:
Executive, Legislative and Legal, Planning and Budget/Quality Assurance, and Prevention.
COA meets at 1:30 p.m. on the second Wednesday of each month. Most meetings are held in the Kenneth
Hall of Administration, 500 West Temple Street, Los Angeles. Meetings are open to the public.
